If you meet the prerequisites above, you can submit your application via the STA portal. Once the evaluation process is complete, you will receive you Certified Systems Thinking Consultant (CSTC) certificate.

  • You must earn 30 Learning and Development Units (LDUs) annually to maintain your CSTC certification.

Once you've earned your CSTP Practitioner certification and have decided to advance to the CSTC level, specific guidelines to help you prepare for your community presentation will be made available to you. While it's recommended to conduct presentations within the Systems Thinking Alliance Community due to our established feedback mechanism, you're not restricted to it. You're welcome to present to other systems thinking communities as well. We provide guidelines for documenting your experiences in these situations. A combination of both can also work effectively

Any work that involves the application of systems concepts, specific approaches, or a combination thereof can be considered relevant systems thinking experience. During the application process, you'll be asked to provide a detailed write-up regarding the hours you've spent on such activities.

The associate and practitioner certifications provide a comprehensive list of systems thinking concepts and approaches. This list is accessible during the CSTC application process. If you're uncertain whether your experience qualifies, don't hesitate to contact us with your questions.

The duration varies as there's no fixed timeframe. We encourage you to take your time to provide quality responses. For some, this may mean spending several weeks collecting information and contemplating more reflective questions. The emphasis is on thoroughness over speed.

We aim to complete the review process within two weeks from the date your application is submitted. However, please note that this timeframe is an estimate and not a guarantee.

Ideally, you should aim to respond to any additional questions from the reviewer within a week. However, if you need more time, you can request an extension. To minimize the chances of needing to do this, we recommend following our application guidance thoroughly when initially submitting your application.

If your application fails to meet all the necessary requirements, it will be put on hold. This is to give you time to address any gaps identified by the reviewer. Please note that applications put on hold are closed after one year, so you will need to submit a new application if you do not complete the necessary changes within that time frame.
